The Costume Fund for Don Quixote

Despite the best preservation efforts by ABT’s incredible wardrobe department, each time the Company dons the intricate costumes of this exquisite production the fabric fades, beads loosen, and trims fray. After 20 years of performances and touring, the impact on these delicate garments is substantial.

Dedicated to the restoration, replacement, and archiving of costumes, the Costume Fund has refurbished or replaced over 200 costumes in the Company’s repertoire. The supporters of the Costume Fund are able to see first hand the impact of their generosity in our productions of Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, and Symphonie Concertante. This year the Costume Fund will restore the costumes that capture Basilio’s youthful passion, the Spanish Ladies’ vivacity and the Toreadors’ gallantry. We invite you to take an active role in the Company’s performance and help us bring the costumes of Don Quixote back to their former brilliance.
